This beautiful brooch is based on the archaeological find of Tranby, Buskerud, Norway. It's dated to the 10th century. This clover-shaped brooch is of a very familiar typology, and there are several similar finds.
The one found in Tranby, in the province of Buskerud, at the west of Østlandet, presents a transition artistic decoration between borre and jelling style. These were commonly worn by women to close the neck tunic or a coat.
