The Valknut is a Norse symbol consisting of three interlocked triangles. The Valknut is inscribed on various different weapons, armor, and clothing from the archeological record of the ancient nordic people.
It is associated with Odin and symbolizes his ability to lay bonds upon the mind, turning warriors in dire need of help in battle and making them courageous and full of fight. They then are possessed by a higher power and become unstoppable and powerful.
The term Valknut is from the modern era and its origins from its historical usage still remain undiscovered. Pronounced "VAL-knoot", it means "knot of those fallen in battle" and was introduced by Norwegians who lived long after the Viking age.
